Not a lot we can do to help with the current management team in place but thought it might be a point to bat around a few ideas to see if we can help?

This is an open question mainly directed at the committee please.
What is the Vision, Direction and Future for the RCOC?
There is a lack of communication from the club and any response is generally very slow.
There are many 2020 events coming up, AGM, POL, NEC etc etc alas there is nothing on the website home page about these. This should be the platform to showcase and promote this. In addition the Facebook group gets lots of traffic and whatever you think about it this again has value for promoting events. After the recent Christmas meet my post got replies saying “wish I knew it was on as I would of gone”.
There could of been nearly 20 Coupes gathered, half the number at POL 2019!
Everyone has other things that take priority in our busy life’s but I only see one person who is visible currently and find this outstanding from them shoring up the ship.
I got back into the car scene for a reason, to get out to different places, meet people and generally have a good time which it has been.
The Coupe always draws attention.
At the Christmas meeting round the room introductions I shared my Facebook mantra
“2020 Bringing the Coupe Community Together”
Isn’t this what it’s all about? It’s about time to grab the nettles by the roots and not just trying to keep the powder dry.

Got to be honest I think one of the problems is that there are too many small clubs.
There should be one club with different registers or chapters - in my opinion.
Then we would have economies of scale rather than an ever diminishing base,
I used to be in the Manta Club and got so fed up of watching it wither I left.

This is exactly it-coupled with every man and his dog setting up a Facebook group for different colours, models etc of the same car...
Porsche Club GB and the RSOC from the outside seem to have nailed it.

RCOC always did seem to operate on a strange business model, there is some bile being displayed on that thread; anybody who thinks body panel re-manufacture takes 12 months isn't in the real world.
They had a paranoia that we wanted to take them over! it was an innocent suggestion regarding possibly joining forces in some area's, probably in a old set of minutes. The year following the R8 25th at Gaydon, where they had joined our pitch, took themselves off the far side of the site!

I was at the well attended 2nd AGM of the Coupe Owners club to offer any moral support necessary.
They are going through many of the the growing pains that we've been through and are affected by all the same external factors.
Membership is currently 110 paid-up members (was 102).
Regarding the Committee, Tom is standing down due to being too busy in his personal life. Kevin Willis was elected as the new Chairman. Tracey (Secretary) and John Miller-Wilson (Treasurer) remain in post.
The sill repair panels have finally been manufactured and delivered (slightly under cost), with the first set due to be fitted imminently. Kevin looked relieved!
On social media, they have as many different, and often separate, groups and pages as we do, in addition to their website and forum. They are worried about the fall in traffic on the forum.
They were planning on attending the Resto Show and Roverfest but world events are starting to overtake these plans...
In future, they may forgo big events to focus on smaller events as their survey suggested members wanted this.
With the knowledge that those attending the meeting were those interested in achieving a good outcome, overall it was good-natured and generally positive but with the worry about the need to run the club better than it has been this year.
There are no problems between the 2 clubs and we'll continue to support each other
