On YouTube… I spotted my own car!

Hi. My 420 Gsi Tourer had numberplates with Penntorr Cars written on. Googled it and found this Rover loving chap on YouTube with a new video out about buying a 620 Ti.

17 minutes and 34 seconds in… there was my car! He says “Nice car that, I should have kept that one”.

I contacted him - he bought it from auction in 2016 for £200 and ran it as a daily driver for a year! I now have a photo of the car from the auction with the dealer plate on which is great! Might get some made up to match.

That's a lucky find - nice to find some history of a car :cool

Yeah it is. I read that you can’t have wording on the bottom of your plates any more! How joyless!

Isn't that for new cars only though ?

Who will know how long the plate has been on the car.

I had some metal plates made up for my 1972 MG, no dealer post code, just the reg, identical to the original.

It’s an excellent point. I don’t suppose anyone will really care if it looks like a dealer plate from the 1990s. My XR3 has a British Leyland garage name on the plates where it must have once been resold - garage long since disappeared.
