Rover 200 & 400 Owners Club

Hi,

Before I get one shipped out to Australia does the Haynes Manual 3344 - Engine Management & Fuel Injection Systems cover the Rover 216i models ECU codes etc with the Honda DA16 engine in detail?

Yes it does. Chapter 9 covers the Honda/Rover PGM-Fi system. The last page lists the fault codes. I'm not familiar with the Honda engine (I'm K-series), so I assume you'd probably need a Fault Code Reader. Maybe others can advise.

Bit the bullet and ordered a No 3344 Haynes Manual from the UK - arrived in Sydney within a week - very interesting section on the Rover Honda PGM -FI.

It explains in some detail how the various sensor and actuators work, but no real detail of what the ECU does with information from particular sensors.

Regardless a very useful manual for enthusiasts of 1980s and 1990s cars with early electronic engine management systems - and plenty cheap secondhand manuals on the market!
