Cabriolet boot inaccessible

Hello all,
I’m new to R8 ownership following the rescue of a ‘94 216 cab from scrap, and loving it so far!
One issue I have is that I think the rod which releases the boot catch has come off the boot lock - the key will turn, but no releasing is happening. I have had the boot open prior to this issue (should’ve checked the mechanism then :headbanging ).
Is there another way into the boot? As I said, I’m new to R8 ownership so pictures would be very helpful. I’ve had a look at a previous thread where they discuss removal of the rear seat base (which I’ve managed) but unsure of where to go from there.
Important, as there’s a 4 pack of beer that I’ve left in the boot!
Cheers

You are halfway there with the seat base out!
If you unbolt the middle bracket that holds the rear seat backs, you can move one side enough to get you arm in and pull a seat realease. With both seat backs out the way you should be able to squeeze through the gap and open the boot.
