We have a 214si & the water pump is pissing water out, I dont have a manual for the car & am not sure of the complexity of changing this out as I normally only by fords!!!(this is why)

Is this a relatively quick thing to do or am I better off getting it done by a garage? I have very limited time to do this as my wife needs her car for work asap.

Please advise, also if any one could scan & email the Haynes pages for this I would apprieciate it. Also need to put a new thermostat in so destructions for thsi would be helpful also

Thanks in Advance

The water pump is driven by the cambelt so you'll need to remove this first (might as well change it unless it is very new).
Then the pump just unbolts and bolt a new one in.
Changing the thermostat is tricky as it is under the inlet manifold. You can do it with the manifold in place but it is easy enough to remove it to improve access.
