I have only one remote key for alarm and central lock for my rover 214 si 1996 .. I understand from ebay that I can buy another but it needs to be programmed by a rover dealer. There are no rover delars where I live (Oslo) The seller of the key will not assist.

How simple is it to buy and reprogram these things. Can I do it? What is required. The car is second hand and I have no pin codes nor any documentation on the car apart from service handbook.

I'm afraid it isn't a DIY job I believe. Some places out there in internet land may be able to help.

Interesting. Buying a remote key FOB on ebat for GBP 5 and paying the rover dealer GBP 35 to program it os cheaper that the solution offered on your link. But thanks in any case for your reply
