Hi all,
Yesterday I picked up a rather dull and sad looking 214si 3door, I was told it was planned to be scrapped on Saturday, the car although has a few faults still made it the 90mile trip home under it's own steam after a fuel pipe leakage, upon inspection the car as literally no rust at all and the sills are still as clean as they left the factory back in 93, I still am not decided on what I'm going to do with it *laughs*, the car has done a mere 35 000 miles, I'm am pleased so far with the results amd mainly it's saved

Put a face lift chrome grill on it, then a spoiler, then change that red strip to a chrome strip and as the guys on Wheeler Dealers would say it's a beauty,
Seriously though, that's a nice motor, always a shame to see people scrapping cars that are in better condition that some of the cars on the roads!

So glad you saved this one
Is it coming to Gaydon on the 5th?
We could do a display of "how many R8s can you get for a grand" - it's probably 4 or 5!

Wish mine was as solid as that!
This car seems to have nine lives, I saw it get ignored on eBay about 6 weeks ago:

Probably safe to say this Club's web forum has had a large part to play in its survival!

Now there's an idea. A lot of fun in so many ways.
Wonder if the TG reboot team would bite on this idea if it was pitched to them? Or would it backfire on us? Actually, thinking about Chris Evans' style, he might not be so remorselessly scornful as his predecessor.
Ideal for the undecided. "5 door? 3 door? Cabby? Coupe? Tourer? Oh s*d it, I'll just have one of each!"
