Re: Instrument binnacle and brakes

Thank you for this. I’ll give it a try.

Hopefully someone else may have a photo of the brake lines etc from the master cylinder so I can use it for reference.

Instrument binnacle and brakes

Hi folks, I’m trying to remove the instrument binnacle from my r8 and I understand there is a pinch clip to remove to release the Speedo cable. I can’t get more than maybe 1-2 cm clearance so can’t get behind it from the front. Therefore I can’t see how I can remove this clip. Do I need to access it...

Re: R8 ALB fault

Thanks for the info. looking at the pics, yes it looks like ALB 2 and nunmber 14 is indeed the pressure swtch. Am I correct that the pressue swtich is on the side of the pump with the two yellow wires? If so I cannot understand how it can be showing up as a fault if it's been bridged.? Given the par...

R8 ALB fault

Good morning folks, I have posted this issue on the facebook page but had limited response. I have an r8 216 (Honda engine) cabrio which has developed an ABS fault. I’ve bridged the diagnostic plug and it appears that it’s code 14 (1 flash and then 4). This seems to relate to a pressure switch. I’ve...

Re: 200 cabrio electrical gremlins

I have looked up the following items in the Haynes manual wiring diagrams. The boot lamp, the clock maintenance and the interior light are all powered through Fuse 12 in the passenger fuse box. Have you checked this fuse? It should be 15A. Richard Spot on! Thanks so much! So silly that I didn’t che...

Re: 200 cabrio electrical gremlins

I’ve looked into the latch tonight and there is a broken spring inside. I think this may well be the issue for the boot open warning light although not the boot light itself. I just need to find a replacement one now!

Re: 200 cabrio electrical gremlins

Do you mean for the actual boot light? If so yes it’s a brand new unit as the original was broken. There doesn’t seem to be any corrosion on any contacts anywhere. The only slightly dodgy one was the one on the slam panel. I’m trying to find the remaining earth points to clean up.

Re: 200 cabrio electrical gremlins

Just a short update.

I checked the wires to the boot lid and they are still fine. I cleaned all the earths in the boot area and initially I thought it was ok but the boot open light is still on intermittently.

Thanks for your time at Roverfest @Stan Thomas.

I’ll do some more tests and report back

Re: 200 cabrio electrical gremlins

Thanks both!

I will inspect / test and revert.

I’m at Roverfest at the weekend so might end up being one evening next week before I check.
