We are the 'featured act' in the Heritage Centre's "Autumn Classic" event, as the Morris Countryman Club was last year to celebrate their 60th Anniversary, so there will be other clubs and groups their too.

They just need to contact John Bishop who runs their events.

It would be fun to have them there too :)

ALL R8s are welcome! It's a Heritage-run event, so everybody's welcome. It'll just take a bit/lot of organising! When the tasks become clearer, we'll dish 'em out, so thanks for the offer :)

The Coupe OC know of the event via leaflets at POL, word-of mouth andtheir own forum.

I will definitely attend with wife Jackie and bring my 220GSi and 214SEi.

I am particularly interested in the oral history element of this. recorded memories could form a great series for the Viking and my background was oral History at university.

let me know if I can help with the nuts and bolts of that.

Just spoken to John Bishop at the Heritage Centre - he's their Senior Co-ordinator.

In summary:-
  • The R8 is the 'Centrepiece' of their Autumn Classic :D
He will be issuing a Press release, which Darrell and I have written, to the classic car fraternity next week.
We will have 2 areas for our cars 1) The Southern Lawn - for c.40 cars and 2) The Southern Arena, facing the Lawn, for as many as we need
I have suggested we put the cars in 'Registration order' - so G-H-J.....R-S-T-V? which he liked. We'd just need an idea of numbers of each so we can make the spaces work. More later on this...

He's booking us the Boardroom from 2pm for our AGM

He'll confirm with the 'Archive team' how to gather info from ex-employees - I've suggested pin boards.
We'd probably be able to put the sectioned R8 inside if I ever manage to get it from Tyseley Tech College

    Other clubs attending include:-
    The 200 BRM OC
    The Toyota GT86 OC
A convoy of 50+ TR7s after their run from Speke, via Solihull and Canley

There is the opportunity for any traders to be present but they should contact John directly (clubs@heritage-motor-centre.co.uk) if they want to attend
Are we happy with the 'parking arrangements' or are there other suggestions ?

Once we know this, we'll collect names and Reg letters
