Re: Restoration show plans
We do, yes-a post with details is coming within a couple of weeks once arrangements are finalised.
In the meantime, there's a thread in the member's section (link below) with details on ticket discounts and the stand number.

Re: Restoration show plans
We've now finalised the cars being displayed on our stand; a 180k mile 400 HHR diesel in need of some renovation to return to the road after a period of storage, a rather lovely restored 216GSI R8, and last but not least a 200Vi which will be (hopefully) having A/C fitted at the show amongst some other fettling!
There will also hopefully be a headlining recover masterclass, and we're aiming to have a K-Series engine to strip as a static exhibit to demonstrate some of the things to look out for when working on the engine.
Do come and say hello, get involved on the stand (all members of all ages, experience and car ownership status are welcome!)-there's a code in the member's section for discounted ticket purchase here; viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14984

Re: Restoration show plans
Any members who are coming to the show over the weekend are most welcome and encouraged to pop over to the stand and get involved with the projects we'll have ongoing, or just assist with answering questions and being a friendly face
in particular, anyone with head gasket, detailing/cleaning experience and headlining recovering skills, your knowledge will be most useful!
Re: Restoration show plans
Hopefully most of this lot, currently in the boot of the vi...

will be under the bonnet by the end of Sunday
The compressor may not be fitted unless I can find a way to extend the alternator cable without the use of solder (eg no heat). All good ideas welcome

And we're set for tomorrow

Jon Living's R8 is stunning and worth the entry price just to see that one car
Who's coming along this weekend?
Many thanks to Jon and John Butler for the loan of their cars and to Jeremy, Jon and Matt from the 800 Club for getting the tiles down and the stand up

Wow, that was a weekend and a half!
It was great to see so many current members and meet many potential new members - the one thing that connects all is that everyone was smiling!
Being the Restoration Show, we 'did stuff' on the stand and we managed to get several bit of aircon fitted to my vi and all of a thermostat relocation finished, from the awkward location behind the engine block to the below the airbox using the Freelander PRT.
It was fraught at times, but only getting fixings back in. The last one went in at 4.56pm on Sunday so that's cutting it fine. The car started on the button, all the coolant stayed where it should and the temp gauge didn't budge from c.40%FSD all the way home. The stress test was following an AA van towing what looked like an Austin 7 at 15mph for about 10 miles on the way back home
Jon L's lovely 216 is now even better and John B's HHR has 2 functioning mirrors and has had a good exterior clean and wax - thank you Theresa
Many thanks to all that came down for some, or all, of the show to help. It's greatly appreciated and in my mind it's 'the way we roll'. Our strap line of being "The Friendly Club" is about right
