Yep, you're right on all counts (the trip was an Autoshite gathering). That is indeed Andy Campbell, and the bus belongs to David Fowler.

The bus is a 1990 ex-HK Olympian with a Cummins L10, originally used by Hong Kong Citybus. It was exported back to the UK with tens of others to kickstart Megabus, where an age-masking private plate (since removed), luggage racks and a toilet were added. After this it did a stint as a school bus for Stagecoach in Fife and possibly somewhere else before entering preservation. Searching 'H987RKG' brings up lots of images of the bus throughout its life.

The oil light came on on the Rover yesterday, all seemed to be well so I gave it a top up and it went out. Must change the oil filter soon.

I've finally put my radio in having acquired some wiring adapters to refit the ISO connectors some plonker lopped off, and found that all the speakers work :D they didn't all on the old setup, and the radio didn't seem to have bal/fad controls so I was stuck. Further to that the radio reception was terribly weak and could barely pick up BBC stations - there was no hope for anything else.
However the new radio has highlighted that the front speakers are pretty worn out and buzz a bit so I'll have to replace them at some point.
The bodyshop is looming, being three weeks away now, so my focuses for the car are keeping it clean and preparing it for that - there are a couple of trim pieces I'd like to seek out, and a new passenger mirror.
After that I've got the car booked in to the classic parking at Festival of the Unexceptional down in Buckinghamshire in July - being a 1990 car it just about slips in (though I've heard the organisers don't care too much about slightly newer 'modern classics').
I also need to sort out the headlining at some point, as I've noticed it's merely tucked under the C pillar trims at the rear corners - suggesting the entire headlining has come unbonded.

Oil filter changed, the old one was a Crosland cheapie. Bosch one in there now.

Took the rear bumper off because it's sitting about 1/2" too far forward on the driver's side - it was forward of the trailing end of the arch, and the liner was also missing. On top of that the bumper looks noticeably wonky from behind. The mounting bracket was mangled out of shape, either from a prang or backing into something- new one ordered. That'll make another big difference and set the car well on the way to looking very tidy indeed.

New passenger mirror today:

I need to either refinish or replace my wooden dash insert at some point: a load of its varnish has flaked off.

Interesting to see what repairs/changes/upgrades you've undertaken since getting the car....keep the updates coming.

If you do replace the wooden trim with something better, would you be willing to selling the old ones? I am considering painting a set of wooden trim inserts to match the body colour and am reluctant to attempt it with the trim that's already in place as its in good nick. The only thing I've ever painted before was a motorbike petrol tank which looked brilliant but I couldn't get the high gloss look I was after....... so am a little wary!

Think I'm sorted for dash trim as I've refinished a spare I found, out of my old car. Better colour match to the rest of the trim than the old one too.

I seem to have disturbed the clock bulb in the process of fitting it though so need to investigate that tomorrow. :unsure

Clock bulb replaced, and fuel filter and 'stat changed.
I satin varnished a spare dash strip from my old car, and it looks pretty nice. I'm going to redo the other one in gloss at some point.

The car used to run cool and overfuel as a result, so hopefully that will now be resolved - I'll find out soon enough.
