I've purchased a set of GTi lattice alloys. Three are near mint, one is kerbed. If I can find one more near mint I'll use the kerbed one as the spare. Just need to get them cleaned up and a tyre on one of them.

It will end up looking very similar to Hammond's GTI externally.

Took the 416 out for a spin tonight. First time I've really driven it for a couple of weeks.

After driving the 216 and the cabriolet recently, I do have to say this drives so tight it's unbelievable - it's like a new car. I guess it would do thought with mileage now at a whopping 27,108.

Already got a full day set aside shortly before BL Day to give it a wash, polish, vac and the bumpers sorting.

I've now fitted GTi lattice alloys to the car and I think it looks great.

I was seriously considering alternative alloys, including Octets from the 25, but really wanted something that was commensurate to the age of the car.

There are some marks to the wheels and I think to make them mint I'll have to get them blasted and powder coated, but that's a job for 2017.
