Scottish car show prep
Zero due to typical scotch/uk summer
Wax curing
Removed
Rail moved in from 1pm and is still present so not had a chance to apply a sealant
Installed another bremobodge setup
Ferodo ds2500 pads
Brand new callipers
Please excuse the dirty appearance of wheels, just from wet driveway and handling
Before on poverty/oxfam spec
Now

No way
That's unbelievable.
Must be 6 or 7 years since it was last used from memory

Yup, seems like a lot of the parts you put on have been taken off for other cars, but it’s still too good to break so am planning works to rescue!

Brilliant
I had pretty much returned it too almost complete stock again when I sold it.
Rust was coming back soon after some " light restoration" and a refresh of paint.
Honest car. Never ran above 12psi and made still pretty much bang on stock power back in 2014 when dynod.
Looking forward to seeing more. This was the last thing I ever expected to be reading on a Saturday morning deep in January

So what’s the plan for it?

Ideally, sell my 216 Cabrio, move the 220 up to me, strip and rebuild engine, get body sorted and paint done, drive…
Hopefully with a smile on my face remembering I wanted one of these since 1993…

An ignomious end to my ownership of L801 PSC.
After multiple failed delivery dates, failed to provide meaningful and timely updates, failure to provide estimates, I’ve informed the workshop supposedly doing the bodywork (4 times it’s apparently been done) and paint (3 times apparently delivered to paint shop) that I am surrendering the vehicle to them in lieu of payment for works undertaken and that I’m not pursuing any further work with them.
I’m sad because I really wanted to return L801 PSC to the road, and to fulfill my ownership dream of a sorted Rover 220 Turbo Coupe. However, the number of sleepless nights, anger at missed deadlines, missing updates and sheer levels of MIA whenever I turned up at workshop has not been good for my mental and physical health.
However, my Rover Coupe journey does not end here. I’m going to look at some VVC Coupes and will be exploring the world of K series performance modifications, brake upgrades and suspension updates.
More as and when stuff happens, but for now, if anyone ever sees or buys L801 PSC, let us know!
