Hi to everybody,

I am new in the owners club and also new in the forum. I am 44 years old and live in Cologne, Germany. I own a 216 Cabriolet for two years and a 416 Tourer for half a year now. Both are from 1998 and both colours are tahiti blue (JRJ). Next to them I own a 1980 Spitfire 1500 for 24 years now - that one is just red though.

It´s pretty rare to drive an "old" Rover here at us. I found out that here in Germany there are only 85 R8 Tourer and 441 R8 Cabbys still "on the road" (data was from 01.01.2017).

As I bought the Tourer last year (just one owner from new) it had standard 14" steel wheels with the quite pretty hub caps. For winter time I bought 15" alloy wheels called Regal 7 (RRC10331) and for summer time I got the "Classic 6" (RRC109440).

How popular/common are ROVER's in Germany ?

On Jan 1 2017 there were approx 34,000 Rovers (and MGs) left, from approx 45,000,000 cars altogether.
This data shows the numbers of cars per make in Germany, compared to the previous year.

The oldest data I found was from 2005, with approx. 170,000 Rovers and MGs.

Interesting data. Perhaps not surprising that the 'recently deceased' brands, MG Rover & Saab, have the largest falls. And then there's Lancia...
