R8 ALB fault

Good morning folks,

I have posted this issue on the facebook page but had limited response.

I have an r8 216 (Honda engine) cabrio which has developed an ABS fault. I’ve bridged the diagnostic plug and it appears that it’s code 14 (1 flash and then 4). This seems to relate to a pressure switch. I’ve found what looks to be the switch (just above the front subframe on the side of the pump) but upon closer inspection it’s actually previously been bypassed so the fault can’t be the switch. Could this mean the pump has failed and if so can I source a new/refurbished Honda replacement? Also does 14 definitely relate to the pressure switch?

Someone suggested removing the system entirely which I am not against but I have no idea wher to start and what parts I would need to replace. It looks like it would be a big job. Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Gary

If your ALB system is actualy ALB 2 as I shown here: https://www.mg-rover.org/threads/rover- ... st-8791436 for Rover 600 series, then yes error 1.4 is pressure switch.

Thanks for the info. looking at the pics, yes it looks like ALB 2 and nunmber 14 is indeed the pressure swtch. Am I correct that the pressue swtich is on the side of the pump with the two yellow wires? If so I cannot understand how it can be showing up as a fault if it's been bridged.? Given the parts availability for this system (or lack of) sadly I fear this looks like being the end of my R8 owenership which would break my heart. I fear that removing the system will be far too much work to be feasible. :-(

I would suggest to seek Honda sites on this system, since you might find much more info there, and possibly resolution of the problem.

If you find one, let me know as I have a Concerto but haven't found any site which covers it but this one!

Have a look at ssg.asia https://www.ssg.asia/parts-catalogs/hon ... 209&state= for Concerto parts. You have to dig deep and there is a limit on searches if your not registered
