do a search on the other forum i posted a link to......common problems with head gasket, could be getting air into water system, check that there is no water in oil and visa versa, check no mayo like substance on oil filler cap......i thought exactly same and tried to deny it, spent bucket loads and...

i see you changed the dizzy cap when you got the car, have you taken it off to see if any water in it after going through the puddle? check that if not done already

well its looking good..... new water pump This was the job to do originally as i had a water leak, first i found it to be the daft pipe with the O rings, but then i think it must have been like this for a while as once i did that it started pressurising properly and thats when the water pump started...
