Re: Central locking locked me out!
So just one of those things hopefully and never leave keys in the ignition is the moral! As it has no alarm or fob or cannot be external forces and was pretty certain there was no link between the keys in barrel and the central locking so your right it is just incidental. Wife was only glad and stil...

Central locking locked me out!
I got locked out of my 1990 216 GSi last night at a pub at 930pm with the keys in the ignition. I recovered the car five hours later after a mate took me home to get the key and travelled over 100 extra miles in the process rolling into bed knackered at 130am! I could have broken a window but nearly...

Re: Honda engine oil in plug holes
I have similar issue and have also replaced the lower o ring seals and checked the top seals and it still happens - car does not burn oil or lose oil but it does collect around the plug bases. Not found a cure but just take out each plug and get rid of the oil and run on every so often. Seems to wor...

Re: 1991 216 GSi Fuel Cap vented or?
Our two early 90 216 GSi with SOHC honda are both the same - really hard sometimes to get the cap off and always have been - owned the one for nearly 20 years and sometimes takes two hands to remove the cap. Think it is why the car talks to you when parked up as the pressure is released but it has n...

Re: Crankshaft Pulley Removal
I have made a tool which has pins which locate into the crank pulley and has a long bar about 12" long which catches on the front subframe cross member. This locks the crank pulley and allows me to undo the crank pulley through the front wing access hole with a normal wrench. Only ever had the ...

Front lower wishbone replacement issue
Had to replace the OSR lower wishbone after a MOT man complained about it being worn - it had only done 265K miles! Replacement was straightforward and replaced the tie rod as well since it came with the unit - a secondhand one from a 85K (ex Pauls silver car) I used the bushes on the tie rods from ...

Re: D16Z2 Spark Plug
I bought several sets of these as stock recently after taking out some Iridium plugs which I did not like the look of in a replacement engine
Cheap as chips these and NGK which I have never had issue with
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/385538731060 Try pinging an off in for all three sets left. I did.

Re: Honda Engine 216 Oil In Plug wells
You can solve this with the o rings below the aluminium cover which does come off relatively easily but is a pain and needs a bit of bravery. However equally so you will find that if its a small leak then a regular clean will solve the issue too. It will repeat but rinse and repeat. I used to just t...
