Rubber grommets for T-series belt covers
Hi everyone My gushing oil leaks have necessitated a new head gasket. Whilst the head is at the engineers for valve seals and (if needed) skim/mating face clean up, I am trying to clean up all the peripherals. The covers for the timing belt have a number of soft grommets - does anyone know where I c...

Re: Philips R960 remote steering wheel controls for R8
Yes I’m using the resistance capability (messing up your 200ohm) on the voltmeter to see if I can see a reading when the buttons are engaged and therefore, I assume, making a circuit with a resistor in it. Can’t get a reading though so I’m doing something wrong.

Re: Philips R960 remote steering wheel controls for R8
Sorry! Been tied up for a couple of week getting my e36 to run well enough for a 600 mile round trip and then prepping my Montego for its first MOT in nearly 2 years (it passed, then broke down). I’m looking at the controls from a doner wheel to see what signal it sends to the radio. Google Gemini (...

Re: Philips R960 remote steering wheel controls for R8
Hi Keith. I think you are right in that I had an R750 not an R760 - one knob for tone. Never, ever to be trusted Gemini AI reckons there are 3 pins on the loom for remote volume, track and mute. Reckons the remote unit sends a signal using resisters to adjust voltage and therefore send a message or ...

Tadcaster show 10th May 2026
Hi there. Just wondered if anyone was going? I’m attending but likely parking in the visitor car park as I can’t be there all day. Matthew

Re: Philips R960 remote steering wheel controls for R8
That’s great to hear. Volume is all I’m after. I have a Bluetooth transmitter which the radio will be tuned into. As the car is less quiet than a modern one I find myself adjusting the volume all the time. I’ve just bought a £20 steering wheel from a Rover 25 to look at the steering wheel controls -...

Philips R960 remote steering wheel controls for R8
Hi there. After several years of twiddling the tone knob in vain on my R760 to get better sound out of my decent-ish aftermarket Alpine speakers I’ve decided to invest. I’ve bought a Philips R960 which looks identical, has separate bass and treble setting, and doesn’t have half the buttons glued in ...

Re: 🏁 Pride of Longbridge 2026 – Who’s Going? 🏁
I have a spare fob for my car which I’d love to have programmed if possible. I own a part share in a P-scan but never dared programme the key in case it left me stranded! Does the process update the original and spare key or can you just make the spare to match the original? I’ll bring my spare fob ...

Looking forward to comparing cars - Suspect yours may be tidier than mine. Be good to have 20% of all roadworthy 420 tourers in the same place at the same time!
