ROVER-CX8 Cabriolet Project Update

Post by ROVER Cabby »

Been off here for a while, moved house and with christmas etc the car got laid up and life
got in the way but I have been tinkering on it and just thought i'd post up an update.

I have edited this first post as the sarcasm didn't fly to well. :laughing2

I have been buying suspension parts, after 1234dist took me for a drive in his Cabby with
all the upgrades he has done and with my suspension feeling like i'm driving on jelly it was
time to replace it all, but upgrade it and improve it all.

So far I have got the following:

New front and rear shocks (Sports suspension from DMGRS as it was cheaper than OEM)
Rear 18mm Anti-roll bar from Rimmers
Rear ARB Clamps (Powder Coated 2nds from MGF'n'TF Bits, they are the same as an MGF)
Rear ARB Links
Rear Strut Brace (New from Dark Ice Designs, it is for an MGZS but it fits the R8)

I still need a set of springs so i'll get saving, I also need some Rear ARB Mounting Brackets,
if anyone on here can help the Part Number is: EFP7577, pic below, let me know if you have
a pair in good condition, they also fitted these to the 400/45/MG ZS too. :)

Difficult to know from those pictures if it's heading towards a late 90s modified look or coming back from it.

What colour are you doing it? as I think the multi colured panels don't do it justice at the moment...

and it will look the part once you have painted it..

look forward to seeing it done.. :)

Obviously not my Cabby but its looking no different after being laid up for the winter,
been buying parts for it though, the suspension upgrades mainly, I have a rear strut
brace and sport shock absorbers, it was cheaper to buy them than OEM, thanks to
1234dist I have a few other bits on order too, i'll post a detailed update once I actually
get to wrench on the car. :D

If the single wiper is a proper conversion and you want to rehome it, do let me know, it'll go well with my three spoke alloys. I'm not even joking.
