hi ive just fitted new alloys was told need to lower suspension can anyone advise me how this is done dave
hi im dave ive been into rovers last 10 years used to have sd1,s but decided it was time for a change of image so i got 216 cabriolet & dolomite sprint

You dont have to lower the surspension just because you have fitted new alloys. Lowering springs would be all you would need and maybe some new shocks :S

hi thats for info have to change front shocks as they are a bit damp will get it sorted by the spring dave

Having just seen your photo post, I can see why its been suggested that it needs lowering!

If you buy a spring kit (<£100) you can just reuse the old shocks, its a fairly simple job to do IF the rear shock to lower arm bolts haven't seized!

Alternatively you can buy a GMAX kit which has uprated shock and springs. Next option is something like koni yellows with adjustable damping but its that bit more expensive and requires faffing around with the old front shocks to cut them up. After that you're onto coilys of the Gaz/AVO variety which are height and damping adjustable.

It all depends what you want from your lowering!

Moto Build do a spring & shocker kit for the R8 priced at £214.00 + P&P

you can find them at www.moto-build.com

I've got this kit on my Coupe and it's quite a nice compromise - not so hard that it'll shake your fillings out. Tidies the handling up nicely as well.
