My 1995 214 16V has developed a very irritating issue. When I was driving today, it cut out; when I restarted the engine, it idled happily enough, but would not rev at all. I managed to nurse it on the clutch to the closest garage (they're booked out for about a month, so couldn't investigate thoroughly), and after about 10 minutes, it revved as happily as it ever had. My suspicion is that it's an electrical/electronic issue, but honestly I'm not sure what was wrong with it. It's been a bit smokey (I think it's been running rich, judging form the plugs), and has never idled properly in spite of the IACV been replaced twice.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
