Miles per tank of fuel?
Miles per tank of fuel?
Bit of a boring subject I know but how many miles to a tank does everyone get?
Im stil on my first tank of fuel with the 216 and its on a quarter left after 271 miles.

Miles per tank is notoriously inaccurate as peoples gauges are different and people run them down to different amounts of fuel left before they refill. The only accurate measure is to brim the tank, zero the odometer, drive till almost empty and then refill back to the brim recording the amount of fuel used and the milage on the odometer. You can then work out the miles per gallon which is much more accurate.

I have a Rover 214SEi. I do 200 motorway miles per week and about 25 miles per week round town.
It has a 55 litre tank and I get about 380 miles per tank out of it on a good week (depending on how I drive it etc). I rarely go above 70mph on the motorway and drive it carefully.
Cheers

My 218 SLD did 258 miles from full to half-way, and it took 4.8 gallons to refill. Okay I was driving conservatively to say the least, but I reckon 54mpg is pretty impressive for a 16 year old car that's done 194k!
The car it replaced was a Ford Scorpio which averaged 27mpg, so I think I've made a wise decision considering the price of fuel these days!

I took my Coupe (1.6 K Series) from Bristol to Manchester and back a couple of months ago and averaged 36 MPG.
I went from Bristol to London (Hammersmith) and back on Sunday and still had over quarter of a tank left. We weren't going crazy but we weren't hanging around either, if you know what I mean.
