Good afternoon all,
As my 420 inner door panels are suffering from "billowing sail" syndrome (i.e. the fabric covering of the centre sections have become un-glued) is does appear rectification is something I may be able to do as a D.I.Y. job.
That said however, are these centre sections removable from the rest of the door panels so they can be recovered seperately?
The best adviser will receive two tickets to the korean Washing Machine "V" Belt and Pulley Museum.
Regards,
Stan.
P.S.
Will be at Gaydon.

Yes I believe they are mounted to a panel with flat pin on that fold around slots on the inside of the panel
You unfold them all and slide them out then fix your fabric problem
I think

I believe Stan is referring to his HH/R 420. I am not sure that it is as easy to replace the fabric as on an R8.

I’m unsure how easy it would be to get a decent finish on a DIY basis. A friend of mine had a trimmer at the Lotus specialist I use (Allon White in Cranfield) retrim his HHR door cards with great results, and a superb match of the material. It looks factory.
