Door Finisher Removal

Post by Topcat Tomcat »

Another question for all you knowledgeable people.

I know what the white clips look like, but I can’t remember how I went about removing them on the Tomcat seven years ago!

Do I just slide a trim removal tool/scraper/broad screw driver underneath and gently lever up? I do remember breaking most of the clips on the Tomcat.

I’ve answered my own question, I decided just to insert a trim removal tool under one end and gently lever it up!

They're upside down "trees" if I remember correctly, but with only 2 branches that splay out under the panel to hold the strip down. Quite brittle when they're old, hence most break - but you can buy replacements.

An ideal component for 3D printing...

I broke several of them, but luckily I have quite a few spares!

An even better component to print might be a removal tool!
(Something, perhaps mounted on a rod, to push upwards from inside the door, to
close up the arms of the clips.)
