Can someone please give me a clue as to what colour the primer should be for a Nightfire Red topcoat?
I`ve so far been advised on grey, yellow/beige and even white

I do know that the primer will tint or shadow the top coat slightly, so need to get it right.

Any help folks, would as usual, be greatly received.

you could always use red oxide primer but grey is normaly used

I know that using red oxide has the added bonus of keeping new rust at bay, but I just wondered if it would make the top coat darker than with the grey primer?

Decisions decisions......

Its a pitty you can`t get a grey `red` oxide primer.

You can get zinc primer which is grey.

Like I said in a previous thread, mechanicals I`m ok with, but body work?
