Dashbourd charging bulb has blown and the tachometer needle needs a lot of revs to get it moving. Trouble is that the alternator isnt charging when the tacho doesnt work. All three are linked. Does this indicate worn brushes and a recon alternator or will a new bulb in the dash cure it.

I'd try a new bulb. I have a feeling that the alternator doesn't work properly with the bulb circuit broken.

The tachometer signal is also given by the alternator hence why they are all linked.

Local accessory shop cant supply one unless I take the old one in first. They dont know what fitment it is. As the dealer is a bit of a distance away, think I`ll leave it till tommorrow.
