STICKY REVS

MY 99 T REG 214 HAS STICKING REVS AT AROUND 2000. A QUICK STAB OF THE PEDAL AND THEY DROP OFF TO IDLE SPEED. IT GETS WORSE DURING WINTER. ANY ONE HELP PLEASE

itll be the throttle body.....they ar emade from plastic and with the heat of the bay they tend to warp.....you can get alloy replacements.

sounds possible, but it doesn't seem to happen during the summer. How much are alloy replacements anyway? cheers

I've no idea on the price, but at that age with a plastic throttle body then I'm betting that'll be the problem. You could try another plastic one from another car at a push but the alloy ones are the better ones. They tend to be in high demand though as they are a performance upgrade for the lower powered 214's. (The throttle body on them is restricted so if you fit a different throttle body and throttle cable you suddenly gain 15bhp!).
