New ROVER 25 Project for the Mrs

Post by ROVER Cabby »

Due to endless problems from the same fault code showing up on the Mrs' ASTRA TT 1.9CDTi
I decided that we should bung it in the garage, get it fixed and sell it, they never run right
for long and don't mention the roof issues they get.

After looking at newer cars I suggested going back to a 25/ZR as she does very little milage,
I know my way around these cars and they are cheap to fix, we were going to look at a silver
25 in Warrington but 1234dist pointed out one for sale on here, a quick change of plan an a
trip to sunny Manchester and to see BigMatt1975 I now own this.

It was mainly my decision to buy it as my Mrs only likes the look of the Mk2 25/ZR's and
although they look nice they were made in the depths of Project Drive and were made out
of recycled wheely bin plastics and for at least 46p a car, I insisted getting a Mk1 when
we got her Mk2 2.0 TD but I lost that fight, after owning it for nearly 4 years she now
know why I insisted so this time I won this battle but not without the following comments.

"I don't like Mk1's, I don't like the front end, I don't like the dash, I hate the wood, yeah
leather is nice but I don't like the pattern, don't do green cars, its too slow"

Fast forward 24 hours after her driving it home from Burtonwood Services and going to
and from work twice.

"I kinda like it, the colour is growing on me, its sooooo quiet inside and smooth"

SUCCESS !!!! :clapping

"I still don't like the wood and its very slow" Image

Great story!

The first time the sale of Rover and Land Rover hit home to my wife was when she realised that she could no longer have Rover 200s as her lease car

( I was an employee of BMW Group* at the time)

"I don't want a Fiesta. I want another 200!"

She now loves Fiestas :slapme

NB. BMW Group is what you get when you 'merge' BMW with Rover Group....
I like Twin Cams.... and Single Cams...and now Turbos
