Sadly, we have lost a very significant figure in the development of all our club cars.

He basically kept the relationship with Honda running as smoothly as possible from the beginning to the end.

On a personal note, although I was well aware of his name during my working life, I only met him afterwards, as part of the Austin Rover/Rover Group alumni activities, and found him to be a very friendly chap.

Everybody who knew him only have positive things to say about him, and I think that says a lot...

He lived a long and productive life! I hope he didn't succumb to a smoking related disease at the end after spending some time at least working a smoke filled environment.

Surprisingly, he didn't!

He had been living with dementia for most of the last decade, hence our fund raising for Dementia Research UK with the sales of his wonderful book, The Viking and the Samurai.

John's funeral was on Friday.

We had a small display of 'John's cars' in place before the service, which was taken by the Longbridge plant chaplain, Colin Corke - it's his R8.




The last Acclaim was brought along by the BMM. Many thanks to them for doing so.

The local shop recognised John's passing too
