River 216 D16
Can anyone suggest some good parts to get more power from my D16 rover coupe
Re: River 216 D16
Smoothing the exhaust manifold (on the inside ! ) makes the engine run more smoothly but I'm not sure if it adds any power.
A K&N filter is a obvious quick and cheap way for a little extra ooomph.

I like Twin Cams.... and Single Cams...and now Turbos

Non of them will make any difference to power but will give a good throaty note to your engine.

Interesting - I've always wondered if they work on this engine, as the induction system is fairly elaborate to begin with.1234dist wrote:Non of them will make any difference to power but will give a good throaty note to your engine.

It was busted on youtube via rolling road, was actually better of with oem panel filter and box for power, but sounds rubbish
Re: River 216 D16
I'm sure a VTEC engine cinstallation has been done before. And you can fit a supercharger to one of those

Re: River 216 D16
easy way to get more power would be a new fuel rail and new injectors to increase fule flow add an air filter if doing the fuel rail then add a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and de-cat the exhaust the exhaust on my d16 engine is a honda civic sports exhaust. from the top of my head it cost me about £110 from the states
you could also get an ecu from a civic then have it remapped but that will cost a pretty packet think i had a quote for a remap of around £600

Maybe a bit late, but i'm still gonna post..
Depending on what D16 engine you have you can do several things.
Some Rovers are fitted with single cam D16a6, GTI's have twin cam D16a8/a9. Most parts are interchangeable between most of the D series engines. You could fit a aftermarket intake (Skunk2, edelbrock, etc) with a B16 throttle body (you can portmatch them) with a cold/warm air intake. Together with a decent 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and a good remap you should be able to gain around 10hp... If you're really interested in spending money on your engine for performance you can check this board:

600 pounds on a remap is ridiculous btw. A specialised Honda-tuner in here is asking 200 euro....
