Yeah ill sort them out. Easy enough todo and to be expected on such a high mileage car.
Also got new shocks and springs to fit at somepoint, they've been sat in my garage for nearly 2 years now! *laughs*

I found the bushes to be easy to remove with the aid of a decent sized hammer. Fitting new ones was equally simple

Re: Replace rear trailing arm bushes on the car?
I replaced the rear trailing arm bushes on our 214 Gsi a couple of years ago, and did it with the trailing arm attached to the car. I replaced them with Powerflex polyurethane bushes which should last a lot longer that the after-market rubber ones that were fitted. They were rubbish. The Powerflex bushes do give a slightly firmer ride on rough surfaces but you soon get used to it.
I wrote an article about how to do it in The Viking, Spring 2011 issue p.14. Don't know if it's possible to access that through the Club website.
Cheers,
Hugh
