57 and young as a 21 year old
Bought my Rover 416 Si used to drive comfortably on Ibiza, but its soooooo low I have to know where i plan to go before going, so I use my Jeep 90% of the time. Knew NOTHING about a Rover when I bought it but its comfortable although tiny for an American on Ibiza to ever get used to.

I'm 40, I was 39 when I got the 220 Coupe, I swapped it for a BMW E30 Touring. My first car at the age of 18 was a Wolseley 1300, now that was an old man's car! I went through a few more BL cars, a Dolomite 1500SE, an Ital 1300, and an MG Metro Turbo. I got my first Rover about 13 years ago, a 216SE Mk1. After that I had a Rover Metro 114SD for a while. Jayne and I have now got 8 cars between us, the Coupe, a 1994 Volvo 480GT, a 1987 Opel Manta GT/E, a 1973 Opel Manta SR, a 1980 Vauxhall Cavalier Sports Hatch, and the projects are a 1979 Opel Manta SRB, a 1983 Opel Manta Berlinetta as well as 1990 Volvo 480Es as a spares car.

The R8 Man
I'm 29, but I was given the car when I was 27.
First car was a 1986 City X Metro (when was the last time anyone saw one of those?), then a 1976 Mk2 Escort 1600 Ghia (I still have that), then a 1980 Mk2 Escort Linnet (with stripes!), then a Brown 1984 Vauxhall Nova with an unlimited top speed, then a 1987 Renalt 5 GTX (the Nova was £20, the 5 was £70, between them I travelled over 70,000 miles...) and now a 214 GSi (covered 25,000 since 2005). I also own two Allegros ( 1978 1300SDL and 1979 1750HL) as well as a 1974 Marina TC saloon.
I currently use the Rover for work, almost like a van but it's treated to more respect!
I've been working with the son of the Boss who is 17, he was three when my Rover was made and thinks any car made before 1990 as being old!
I do feel a bit sorry for him because when I was his age the choice of car was so much more interesting, I looked at everything from 1800 Vauxhall Magnums to 2200 Rover P6's when I was 17. These days cars from the 80's are all but extinct and other interesting ones are SO expensive, to think I almost brought a bog standard one owner Avenger Tiger mark 2 in 1995 for £475!
I brought the Escort instead since I prefered the frigging colour!
If I wanted a cheap fast car right now I'd go for a 420 Turbo, looks standard and slow, but boy will it go, even without mods....
