Post by mr shifter »

is it possible for the 2.0 rover engine to leak a load of oil but not coolant from the head gasket? :)

yes its fairly normal, the T series is known to weap on from the from right of the head, but normally its the cam cover seal rather than the headgasket.

if it is from the headgasket I'd recommend replacing it with a Klinger gasket

Yes it's common to do that. Klinger head gasket is what you need.

Could also be camshaft seals if the oil is running down the side of the engine rather than the front. Mine was pouring oil out of them when they failed. Couple of quid for replacements from rover and they're relatively easy to replace... bit mucky mind!
