back home

car is a lot better, couple of areas that need to be revisited at a later time

overall finish is great and no peel and car is now the same colour

repairs to every panel, dents, scratches rust

rust to under side of bonnet at grill
both rear arches and lower arch/sill
dent to drivers door
repairs to rub strips

*to be refitted
mudflaps
rear windscreen finisher/trim
roof finisher
front windscreen a pillar trims/finishers
rear windscreen washer jet
front number plate fixing covers to be refitted

Genuine Jap arch extensions prepped/repaired and painted and fitted to car

Will need some work to enhance and refine paintwork finish, but this i can work on myself

will be investing in a rotary based kit soon to get the excellent base to the best it can be

Is it me?

Am i widely un liked? no one seems to be the slightest bit interested in anything i posts, on any forum?

Spent all day working on bring paint work on car back up to standard ( had only been flatted/compounded to a first stage)

swirling and holograms abundant, as a result of the mopping in the initial stages after repainting

invested in a entry level rotary polisher and 3" backing plates

Stocked up on 4" and 5.5" hexlogic pads
Megs 7" soft buff 2.0 compound, polish and finishing pads
Menzerna compounds
monster drying towel and microfibre buffing cloths

had started with megs m205 and a medium polishing pad, to be safe with recent unknown thickness of the paint, but wasnt yielding the results i needed

Stepped up to hex orange and m105 then followed up with a finishing pad and menzerna pf4000 to restore finish and refine gloss and shine

worked on roof
above windscreen
around rear windscreen
front a pillars

all of the above was to allow me to reinstate the trims and finishing pieces

bonnet
both front wings

This was carried out to allow the re in statement of the front mudflaps
Passenger door
passenger entire rear quarter panel

Will refrain from any waxes or sealants until next Saturday

Defects remain, but gloss and finish has been restored and swirling dramatically reduced

I do not have any before and after shots really as its been over cast all day and i dont have a decent enough light source to demonstrate
Will be attempting to complete remaining areas tomorrow
