This. Often gives an opportunity for those of us who have no interest in getting the polish out. I like to see cars in 'used' condition myself as well as spotless. Looks like I should be there with my J-reg 1992 'wrong grille' 416SLi. Maybe someone could sell me the correct grille?1234dist wrote:favourite car of the day, as voted by the other members excluding your own car.

Looking at the trophies again, I think we'll only present 5 of them.
I'd like to propose :-
I'll knock up a voting sheet for people to use - If we opened this up to anybody attending the event, it might have the effect of getting more people to look at the cars.
Do we have any prizes knocking around? Didn't we get some from a car cleaning products company last time? Any contacts? Or shall I go and raid Halfords?
Other questions:
Who'll be bringing down the clubs flag/banners/paraphernalia?
Does anybody have a small gazebo thing we can use during the day to provide a contact point for the club so we can sign up new members, distribute voting slips etc? We'll also need a rota of volunteers to man/woman it during the day - we may need provide free tea/coffee to keep 'em warm if it's cold!
I'd like to propose :-
- Oldest Rover 200/400 ( which will probably be a 200!)
Most Original Rover 200/400
Best Modified Rover 200/400
Best Detailed Rover 200/400
Favourite Rover 200/400

AS we have invited other clubs to attend our little event we should have a trophy for them. So I suggest
Most original 200/400
Best modified 200/400
Favourite 200/400
Best other Rover
Best non Rover

Best non Rover

We could but it's an open event organised by the Heritage Centre and other clubs and individuals are free to attend. The TR7 owners are calling in as part of their "Wedge Fest" run and the BRM boys are there too. Both arranged directly with Heritage.Red Icon wrote:AS we have invited other clubs to attend our little event we should have a trophy for them. So I suggest
The only other club who we've 'invited' is the RCOC and they qualify for all 200/400 awards - except for oldest, obviously.
It might seem a bit insular but I think we ought to restrict it to just R8s......

I agree with John on this one. (We might need to clarify to SD3, R3 and HHR owners that their cars are not included, despite wearing 200 and 400 badgesGTiJohn wrote:We could but it's an open event organised by the Heritage Centre and other clubs and individuals are free to attend. If we were having our own independent event somewhere with guests invited, then awards for non-R8s would be a good thing to have.
