My brother had his tranny resprayed for £300 in brum but i cant get intouch with him to get the addy/number of the work shop
Pro respray.....
Pro respray.....
Had a quote yesterday and the bloke said If i could prep it myself it'll be somewhere around the £600 mark. If i took it in as is it he said around £1300
The dude was finding the smallest lil scratches that even i didnt know was there. Good eye, i was impressed. There was a dent in my bonnet i didnt even know was there. Ok the point im getting to is: Does anyone know a garage within erm 100 miles of me B76 Birmingham or ST5 Stoke, Newcastle-under-Lyme that can beat the price by at least £800?

He, erm she looked so pretty after
I think my main concern is that if i spend £1300 on a respray... i dont want the engine falling to bits a few thousand miles down the road
Ive got to the point over the last 3 thousand miles of changing my oil every 1000 miles
Edit:... I must stress that i saw some of his work and it was hot, i mean the cars looked like they were in a showroom.
The bodyshop where i work quoted me £1700 for a respray, which included stripdown, filling etc. and painting.
I'm not biased, but the standard of work is exceptionally high. Unfortunately i can't justify spending a grand (at least) more than the car is worth.
Unless i win the lottery that is....

I'm trained as a sprayer/body repairer and what never ceases to amaze me is the look on peoples faces when they ask for quotes on body work and especially resprays
If only they knew the time, effort and skill required in this job!.
As has already been said 'you get what you pay for'...
A woman came round the other day and with a 2001 Ford puma in radiant red, rusty rear arches and sills and badly faded paint all over, almost matt pink!,Quoted her £250 to shot blast and fill the rear arches/sills,respray the 1/4 panels and mop the car with G3 then polish it,her reply...'OH MY GOD HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU JUSTIFY £250,IT ONLY NEEDS A LITTLE BIT OF PAINT AND A RUB WITH SOME POLISH'
