Banging when pulling away in a 414si.

Post by curlie467 »

I have an `m` registered 414si and when puling away in first it makes a banging noise or a very loud knock, if you pull away carefully it wont do it but when pulling away more vigorously it will do it.

Anyone had this? could it be a bush or driveshaft?

I`d say its the engine mounts for sure. My 214i does it, the top mount by the PAS reservoir has disintegrated on the one side (caused by the leaking reservoir no doubt)
Engine doesnt move much though..... Still, it`ll get done when the clutch goes - next week at this rate :)
