I've been having problems for a while with my fob losing sync; up till now I've been able to resync it with reliable success for the best part, but now the resync process isn't working. When it's done this in the past, I've sprayed WD40 down the lock (thinking it likely an electrical issue) and it's worked, but not any more. Can anyone offer any advice? FYI, the resync process I've been using is to remove the battery from / reset the fob, unlock the door with the key, and then hit the lock button on the fob until it locks. Annoyingly, a few times now it's managed to sync up enough to lock the door, but then seemingly lost sync again the very next click. I've heard that there's a way to disable the immobiliser via the ECU but the only reference I can find to this points you to contacting someone on an address that no longer works or exists for details (naturally, we don't want that information in the public domain).
The car has lived its entire life by the sea, and is on its last legs it seems (though it's been a relatively trouble-free 6 years to be fair); it'll be sold for spares & repairs / scrap soon enough so really any options anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
