Did we win anyone over to the Rover side, or are most attendees already committed to a marque when they come through the door?

We signed up one new member yesterday (with an SD3) and a number of people took club application forms away.
I don't think you can win people over just by having a stand but it puts our cars in people's minds and then they may consider them before making a purchase. Because of the demise of Rover it's particularly important that they see that there is a thriving owners club to support the cars.

If anybody would like to join us for an indoor show, do get in touch.
I am finalising plans for the NEC in November at the moment (and will be delighted to hear from any Honda Concerto owners), we have already started talking about the NEC Restoration Show in March next year and there will also be an indoor event in the South West next spring. Then before you know it, it will be time to do Manchester again (and we do like to show off different cars every time if possible

I'd just like to say that I really enjoyed the day. I was very surprised when Paul contacted me asking if was interested in displaying FOXY on the stand. I was going to the show with two mates anyway and although hesitant at first, I'm very glad I said yes, and so are my two mates.
Definitely different being on a stand rather than just visiting. Manning the stand wasn't too onerous as everyone did their fair share and I think everybody got a good chance to look around the rest of the hall.
Had some very enjoyable chats with blokes wondering round on their own, a nod or brief question was enough to get a good bit of crack going, and hopefully make their experience of the show more enjoyable. Yes the odd one got a bit anal, but if you've an interest in cars you must be familiar with that.
Yes it's a commitment, but really worth it, so I would recommend anyone that feels they may be interested to show a car on the stand to give it a go. I see requests are out for the NEC later this yea and next. Paul and Jeremy who do most of the organising would, I'm sure, appreciate earlier volunteers rather than late pressed men.
