Rear Jacking points

Post by ATC_216 »

Hi. I need to check my rear brakes as theres a squeek when I apply and release the handbrake. So where is the safest place to jack up a 216 using a trolley jack?

Cheers.

There is a specific rear plate in the middle under the boot space, rounded its perfect for lifting the whole rear of the car to put axel stands under boths sides at once..

I'd never jack my car using that, it looks too weak.

I just use the normal jacking point with a trolley jack and fit axle stands under the suspension bottom bolts.

i jack me 214 up using tolley jack under the rear center towing eye - and have been for well over a year - pretty much every week, and not the slightest sign of any deformation or rust - all doors and boot open no prob while tis jacked up aswell. bit wibly though while its balancing on it - axle stands would be a good idea once raised.

Axle stands are essential. Never work under a car when it's supported on a jack alone, especially a hydraulic jack. They can and have failed with fatal consequences.
