Wheelarch repair on our 216 cabrio

Post by richard moss »

I tackled the rusty wheelarch this weekend.

First I cut out the two patches of rust.

Then I let in two sections of arch cut from an old 800 wing, ground of the excess metal from my poor welding and treated them with Kurust.

A bit of filler to restore the contours.

Primer.

Aerosol Caribbean blue and clear lacquer.

Finished result. It'll need a cut an polish when it's hardened off.

Not perfect but I can't spare the cash to replace the whole wing just yet - we'll get a year or so out of this (at least).
