400 drivers window out of line

Post by AED »

Hello. I have just brought my first Rover. A 420sli(D). 1996.
The second day my problem arose when I opened my driver's side window and it seemed to stick.
Now it is out of line and leaves a gap at the end. The wind whistles through which is how I relalised I had a problem.
I have looked at the passenger side and when I raise or lower it the window just stays in the rubber and goes up and down perfect. But the driver's side seemed out of line and comes away from the door when it rises and does not fit.I have the trim of the door so can get access. All I can see is the the glass is fixed firmly along the bottom runner but does not stay in the side. Anyone help me please :)

you have the same problem as me. does the top corner of the window raise first? if so you need a new mecanism for the window. i have to guide mine in to get it to close

Thanks for reply. The problem is the quide at the end of the door part that has the door lock I think. The window seems to open level and is firmly fixed into the bottom. Just will not seat itself properly.
