It's great to see craftsmanship!

The panels looks as if they fit pretty well :thumbup

I'm popping over next week to check on things in person, not because I have any doubts but more because I can't control my excitement being sent these pictures from home :laughing2

This is a nice update :)

what starts out as a few holes turns into a very nasty rash, once the sill has been cut back!

R8's were dipped in phosphate during build, which is probably why the looked after ones have lasted so well.

Another update to report.

Hope this doesn't kick off anyones anxiety!! The fabricator is now working on the passenger side of the car which was meant to be the "good side" and less time consuming :o

The majority of the corrosion goes half way up the length of the sill, however the front half of the sill is damaged with dents and scraps as you can see below:

I've instructed the fabricator to fit a complete new sill just like the work carried out on the drivers side so the next update will be a good one :cool

Thanks for looking.

These very interesting photographs just reinforce Murphy's Law of Rust, or in other words the rust you can't see is at least 5 x worse that what you can! :D

If you look close enough, you can see the inside of the car from the outside :o

It is bonkers, and on so many levels!

This was meant to be a 'rust free chassis' when it was chosen for the re-shell which just again shows the level of experience these people had when converting it. :slapme Im committed in making this a great example again now so there's no going back.

Another update to report, we are almost finished with the fabrication so here are the latest progress pictures:.

Great progress!
It’s great to see craftsmen or women doing such a lovely job on repairing/replacing those rusted panels and bringing the bodywork back to life.
Well done 👍
