G'day peeps.
New to Rover and taking a shot at restoring this aging conveyance. To-do list initially consisted of a dozen items, quickly blew out to 36 but I've hopefully nailed 28 of those. Getting to the gnarly ones now though, like noisy reverse gear, peeling clear coat (laquer to you chaps and chapettes I think?) and sundry dents, scuffs and scab rust.
Parts down here are tough to source so I'm hoping the community will be able to suggest solutions to my questions. Of which there will be legion. I know how to operate the search facility, but sometimes that's just not enough. Hence my intro on the forum. Although I've learned a few things on this odyssey as well so I'll suggest stuff where I think I can help in return.
So that's me and thanks for reading. And cheers all.
Andy.

Blimey, I bet that's rare 'down there' !
I spent weeks in the N & S Islands just before the pandemic and only saw 1 Rover, a 600, and I was looking
The search function is pretty useful but ask away.
As you'll be importing anyway, there are a couple of suppliers in Greece and Turkey that could be fruitful, in addition to the usual UK biggies of Rimmer Bros and XPart.
I like Twin Cams.... and Single Cams...and now Turbos

Thanks for the welcome GTiJohn.
I'm based in Nelson. The local Rover car club does their best to squeeze parts out of their own resource and their network but the supply is simply drying up. So here I am.
According to the National vehicle register, there are only 49 licensed 200 series still alive in NZ, so you're not wrong. Half of those are likely on registration hold status, so yep, chances of seeing one on the road are, as you say, vanishingly small. I rescued this one from the dismantler/crusher because I couldn't resist the challenge of beating the odds. Jury's still out on that though...
I'll have a gander at the non-UK options once Google's done its thing. Honestly didn't know there were any.
Good to natter, and cheers,
Andy
