MG ZS 180 24mm Rear Anti Roll Bar

Post by The Origina lNom »

Not needed anymore.
Upper rear strutbrace stopped what I thought was body roll but turned out to be chassis flexing..

Why not just use someone like Hardraces kit for the Civics that's what I'm going to do

The DC2 24mm rear anti roll bar does not fit as standard because i tried one and the end mounts dont fit.
Do Hardrace do some sort of conversion kit that effectively extends the side mounts by four inches ?

Yes it's a whole kit which ones with a panel/brace to mount the roll bar to for all the various Hondas. I haven't got mine yet as I've been putting all the PCI bearings etc on rear

JohnDQ, I've looked at the Hardrace site and a few other places but I have not seen a kit to fit Honda MB6 which is the same as Rover HHR, I have found a 25.4 mm arb for Honda EK9 and other Civics for £339 but I think 25.4 maybe good for the track but too rigid for anything near comfort on the roads.

A few weeks ago now, I fitted a Dark Ice Designs or DGMRS upper rear strut brace to see if that improved matters.
It is certainly not a lightweight item but this has, at last stabilised the rear of my HHR 400 almost negating a thicker lower rear arb for road use.
The bodyshell must be extremeably flexible on the HHR as I had tried most things to try and stop what I thought was body roll. A rear lower strutbrace, which I now possess may be fitted next year but some flexibilty makes for a more comfortable ride around town with speedbumps etc.
I thoroughly recommend the DGMRS Rear Strut brace for any400 HHR owner, providing they do not mind losing part of the boot space and for £66.00 plus postage DGMRS an absolute bargain
