I've been looking at this route for some time and thought it might make a good club run. Its 75 miles long
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/dest ... kdistrict/
The starting point is Holmfirth, not too far from Manchester, Midlands, North East and reachable from M1 J38a for those further afield in e.g south.
Many good car stops and twisty road photo opportunities on the way down, I would modify the route slightly to finish In Ashbourne Dbys. Skip the stately home visits.
Social distancing all the way.
I am planning to do this run myself sometime late Aug - early Sept
Anyone else interested in joining the trip?
John

Well I should find out on Friday about out expansion whether we got our planning application approved so if you want to tie this in with a nice little open day?
I have plenty of car park spaces and will have plenty of space on the inside. I expect to be ready to roll come January. Giving you all time to fit what ever Christmas presents you get your car...*laughs*

Having read the Telegraph report it sounds just the thing for a northern run. However, caution is the word in these Covid days. Would be interested once Covid is beaten. Having had a taste of the Peak District, I would do the 75 mile day run then stay over and sample some of the hotels as listed in The Telegraph article. Make a proper holiday of it.
It’s one to slot into the “vague-future-diary” I think. Roll on the end of Coronavirus, say I.
