2020 NEC Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show with Discovery CANCELLED

Post by bigmatt1975 »

Hi Folk
What do Folk think of the November NEC running ?
I personally think that it's immoral
Covid 19 is still around and We are probably years away from a vaccine
To hold a Event during a pandemic and winter flu season indoors with thousands of people.. Many who are older and at high risk...Seems Completely Insane
But the almighty dollar is king
Personally Its a No from Me

I assume if gatherings are limited to 6 people then any indoor or outdoor events must be cancelled, surely?

Sorry but if they are old and at high risk what are they doing at a major event.

Without the numbers it’s going to go the way of the Manchester events and will soon shut its doors like events city did.

You might not want it this year but you will in years to come and it just won’t be there.....

Besides, it’ll get cancelled anyway.

I don’t think we’re years away from a vaccine - but it will be at least another 6 months.

The NEC, the owners of the facility not the organisers of events, are running a poll, so if you want to make your feelings known you can tell 'em

The closing date is midnight on Sunday 20th September 2020 and there's a prize draw too :D

The current position for the CMS event is that we have been offered and accepted a stand but we, like everybody, is far from certain that it will be safe to actually hold this event so we are awaiting developments.

The stand would be 3 or 4 cars with smaller-than-usual manning. Social distancing, masks, hand sanitiser etc would all be needed

Exercising their right to decide for themselves if they wish to attend. It's really not up to you to decide what other people go with their lives if they are acting in accordance with the law.

And, of course, no one is forcing you to go - so why do you care so much?

It’s impossible to make a decision now as the situation can change so much, for better or worse, in two months time...
