check the baterey contacts in the i had one that broke i just re soildered the joint and it worked a treat

check tyre pressure's about 30 psi should fine and check wheel nuts , suspension mounting bolts

i had same sort of fault on a single cam'd gti hatch

i used to thump the centre consule and the car would fire up i never did sort it out

does the fuel cut of live around that area

im sure it has a eobd style socket wedged somewere behind the centre consule not clipped up

and a £5 multi meter will do the job it should have volts and ohms

you could always use red oxide primer but grey is normaly used

if you have no history of when last belt change was just get it done now

cheaper in the long run and it wont be playing on your mind when the engine is at the end of its rev range
